Sales Apprenticeship

During this training program, the goal is to gain an understanding of all aspects of the Best HF beautiful product line and features. Also, you will gain an understanding of the internal & external processes prior to being placed in the field. This training will be key in becoming a highly successful independent sales rep at Best Home Furnishings.

Stage 1: Corporate Headquarters training

  • Work closely with the Sales Department. Gain product knowledge and understand our pricing structure, catalogues, and product numbering system. In this period you will also be exposed to the tools a rep uses and will be required to demonstrate your ability in using them. You will participate in markets, national sales meetings, and other applicable rep meetings – as available. Must understand the extensive fabric offerings and fabric collections. Will need to conduct at least one tour by the end of the Sales Training Program.
  • Job shadow other Sales Related Departments, which includes, Order Entry, Customer Service, & Advertising. You will be exposed to the scheduling process; order processes; common Customer Service problems and how to resolve them; gain an understanding of the warranty programs and learn about the various advertising materials & programs.
  • Gain extensive Product Knowledge. You will spend time in Research and Development, as well as the Manufacturing departments, which will include upholstery, frame assembly, dimension/machine operation, cutting, sewing, mechanisms and quality.

Stage 2: Travel with Sales Reps for External Knowledge

  • Travel with 3-4 reps to learn a variety of sales techniques with different types of clients. Call upon a variety of furniture dealers (large, medium, and small) to learn how to approach a new account. Learn first-hand how to enter orders, deal with service issues, sell programs, and other day-to-day activities.

Stage 3: Work in New Territory with Current/Previous Rep

  • Travel and work with the rep in the new territory to learn how to engage with the customer and begin promoting and selling our extensive product line.

Job requirements:

  • Demonstrate competency in all aspects of the training.
  • Willingness to relocate to the available sales territory. 
  • Possess highly effective oral & written communication skills 
  • High energy and possess the ability to work creatively and independently 
  • Possess highly developed management skills 
  • Have the desire to meet and/or exceed sales quotas once placed in territory
