HELPDESK TECHNICIAN

Summary: Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues as well as install, configure and troubleshoot computer networks, modifying and making minor repairs to PC hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance to system users by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Field calls or emails from end users who are having trouble with systems.
  • Provide analysis and support for all workstations and laptops via phone, email, and in person.
  • This includes supporting desktop software, PC/laptop hardware, desktop operating systems, printers, network access, telephones, mobile devices, remote connectivity, and other relevant areas.
  • Document, track, and escalate all service and problem requests.
  • Provide high level of customer service with timely resolution to support requests.
  • Maintain asset management system with current and up-to-date information on location of all technological equipment.
  • Support and maintain user accounts through Active Directory including rights, permissions and appropriate groups.
  • Remotely install, troubleshoot, and support client software programs, applications, and platforms.
  • Configure, test and set up new PC/laptops, phones, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Diagnose end user system failures and implement repair solutions.
  • Install and upgrade hardware and software solutions.
  • Diagnose printer and other peripheral device failures and implementing repair solutions.
  • Troubleshoot network devices in order to ensure connectivity from the PC to the network.
  • Configure and troubleshoot mobile devices and tablets.
  • Setup and troubleshoot audio/video equipment such as projectors and video conference equipment.
  • Experience with WDS and MDT a plus.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven experience troubleshooting PC hardware, software, and network issues; ability to work independently in a fast paced environment; attention to detail; possess excellent organization and documentation skills; and strong customer service skills. Some travel required.
