Best Home Furnishings Named Supplier of the Year FERDINAND, IN - Best Home Furnishings, a Ferdinand, Ind. based residential upholstery manufacturer, has been recognized as the 2010 “Supplier of the Year” by Furniture/Today, a leading trade publication. The award was presented at Furniture/Today’s annual Leadership Conference on Thursday, December 2. Ray Allegrezza, editor-in-chief of Furniture/Today, presented the award to Clem Lange, founder and director of the board for Best Home Furnishings, who was accompanied by his family. Furniture/Today honors its leaders of the year based on the initiatives they have implemented, either by taking their companies or the industry to a new level of excellence. “After the year we’ve had, I can’t think of a better company, who as a result of their success during these particularly turbulent times, is more deserving of this recognition and honor,” Allegrezza said. During these recessionary times, the furniture industry has been hit especially hard. Not only has disposable income disappeared, making high dollar purchases a rarity, but rising imports from China have flooded the market with common, low priced items. Best Home Furnishings has responded to these challenges by producing a larger selection of product, all available for special order in an industry leading turnaround time of five working days. While accepting the award, Lange was quick to direct the praise to his three sons and daughter who have taken over the day-to-day operations within the last decade. He thanked the employees of Best Home Furnishings whose dedication and hard work have propelled the company into an industry leader – as well as thanked the thousands of retailers carrying the Best product line throughout the world. Following the ceremony, one of Clem’s sons, Brian Lange, president, said, “Through the years of challenges and shifting consumer preferences, we have strived to adapt while still building upon our foundation of company strengths. While some of the competition is capable of producing low-priced goods, we have shifted our strategies in recent years to emphasize fast delivery of quality products that are affordable and meet the varied style demands of the consumer.” Allegrezza added, “Clearly, Best Home Furnishings is writing the book regarding speed to market in the upholstery arena. Today, the company’s product selection has grown to thousands of styles available in hundreds of diverse cover selections, made to order in days, not weeks.” This award comes on the heels of several others Best Home Furnishings received in 2010. In October, Best was recognized as the number one glider manufacturer by a trade buying group of the juvenile and nursing industry, and earlier this year, the trade magazine Baby & Children’s Product News awarded Best the reader’s choice award in the glider rocker category.
